We’re excited to announce our partnership with Obol Collective, the leading community behind Distributed Validators (DVs). Through this partnership, we are changing our staking infrastructure to include Obol Distributed Validators, and opting into the Obol incentive program to bolster restaking rewards.
Why are we integrating Distributed Validators?
Integrating with Obol enables Swell to increase the efficiency of liquid restaking, whilst boosting decentralization as we continue to gradually reduce centralization vectors across our node operator set.
This holds significant strategic importance, enhancing the resilience and security of the protocol by preventing the concentration of power and potential collusion.
What this means for rswETH holders
Better Performance
Distributed Validators optimize uptime and fault tolerance, leading to more efficient and reliable staking infrastructure, which helps improve validator performance.
Lower Risk
Distributed Validators (DVs) have a built in Distributed Key Generation Ceremony that help to improve the security of private keys. In addition, DVs lowers the need to run numerous passive backups, which help provide more robust staking infrastructure and avoids certain tail risks.
More Rewards
Higher validator uptime and efficiency mean more staking rewards for users. Additionally, the OBOL Incentives program allows Swell to earn additional rewards, maximizing staking earnings for users while contributing to Ethereum’s decentralization.
About Swell
Swell is a liquid (re)staking protocol with its own rollup secured by restaked assets. Stake and restake your assets with Swell, and then boost your restaking yield on Swellchain—the first vertically-integrated restaked rollup, powered by Proof of Restake.
About Obol Collective
The Obol Collective is the largest Decentralized Operator Ecosystem and the champion of Distributed Validators. We bring better performance, more rewards, less risks to Ethereum and other decentralized infrastructure networks. Learn more at obol.org.
